In the Style of Alexa Meade

Alexa Meade is an American artist who combines painting, photography, performance, and installation to create living portraits right on the models used for her work. This backward process results in a hyper-realism that transforms into a surreal experience.

In the Style of Minjae Lee - 2012

Minjae Lee works and lives in Seoul, South Korea. An illustrator and painter, his work is largely portraits of women with striking eyes. His use of geometry and dynamic colour pallets (heavily blue) and a complexity to the otherwise simple subject matter.

In the Style of Tamara de Lempicka - 2011

Tamara de Lempicka (1898 – 1980) is strongly associated with the Art Deco movement, having risen quickly to recognition during the 1920s and 30s due to her distinctive and bold style of painting. Her style is sometimes referred to as soft cubism (a term coined by André Lhote), her work is more clean and precise than other cubist painters and her use of a brighter colour pallet gives her work a more elegant tone.

I also found out while doing the research for this piece, that in edition to also being the middle child of three, that I shared a birthday with Ms. de Lempicka!
